Barra (Ytre Hebridene)

The flag of the Scottish island of Barra, in the Outer Hebrides archipelago, traditionally part of Inverness-shire, was registered on November 23rd 2017. The island had been flying its green flag, bearing a white Nordic style cross, for over a decade. Details regarding the provenance and significance of this design are sketchy but the island was part of the mediaeval Norse ‘Kingdom of the Isles‘ and the name of the isle itself is of part Norse origin; as with the prospective flag of South Uist, this historico-cultural linkage is reflected in the Scandinavian form of the flag.

Russland

The flag of Russia consists of a horizontal triband of white, blue, and red. A few accounts of the flag’s origin indicate that the colors come from the flag of Netherlands. There are varying interpretations of the meaning of the colors, but the following is the most popular today: white represents nobility and frankness, blue represents faithfulness and honesty, and red represents courage. This flag was originally adopted on May 11th, 1696 and re-adopted on December 11th, 1993.

Åland

Åland (finsk: Ahvenanmaa) er en øygruppe og et selvstyrt, demilitarisert landskap i Finland. Det ligger i Østersjøen, mellom Finland og Sverige, og består av over 6 500 øyer, hvorav den største kalles Åland eller Fasta Åland. Åland er svenskspråklig og har 29214 innbyggere (2016). Hovedstaden heter Mariehamn.

Det gula korset symboliserar jordbruket, som alltid funnits mer eller mindre i Bergslagen.
Det gula och de blåa är ​dessutom en naturlig koppling till den svenska flaggan.
Bergslagsflaggan är en korsflagga, precis som de nordiska flaggorna.

Kalmar-unionen

Historisk flagf for Kalmarunionen, som forente Danmark, Sverige og Norge fra 1397 til 1523. Det finnes ingen historisk dokumentasjon av flagget. Dette flagget er en rekonstruksjon basert på brev fra Erik av Pommern i 1430.
